Daughter of Deceit
A Family Tree Mystery #3

by Patricia Sprinkle

Daughter of Deceit is a fast paced, intriguing mystery. With character development so well drawn out that you feel you know the characters personally and a plot so intricately woven together it holds the reader's interest as the story unfolds, Daughter of Deceit is an entertaining and enjoyable mystery to read.

Bara Holcomb Weidenauer, an Atlanta Socialite, has fallen upon hard times. Her second husband, Foley, has frozen her charge cards and bank accounts. He fired all the servants, and lives in the basement of the house because his lawyer told him not to "abandon" the residence. Foley, who is fifteen years younger than Bara, wants a divorce. He also wants to take all of, or most of, Bara's money.

Katharine Murray, who is utterly beneath Bara's social radar, has time on her hands because her husband is usually only home on weekends; he travels for his job in the Senate throughout the week. Katharine's home had recently been viciously vandalized. She is working on restoring her home when she's asked to help Bara research some Military Medals Bara had recently found that had belonged to her father. While researching the Military Medals to learn what each medal was awarded for, Katharine inadvertently opens a Pandora's box. Foley is found shot to death and Bara is at the top of the suspect list. Can Katharine's research and investigative work shed some light on who killed Foley and why?
