Death in Daytime
A Soap Opera mystery #1

by Eileen Davidson

Alexis Peterson has been a leading character in Media Broadcasting Networks' daytime drama The Yearning Tide. She fears that the new head writer Marcy Blanchard is going to eliminate her role as Marcy thinks Alexis stole her lover and seeks revenge,  Alexis confronts Marcy about what she has been doing to her "character" and there ensues a violent verbal battle.

Shortly thereafter Marcy is found murdered, the instrument her own Emmy statue,  Because of the argument and the known dislike between the two, Alexis becomes the chief suspect.  Many of her coworkers believe that she did it, as do the police.  So Alexis is forced to prove her innocence.

Death in Daytime is an enjoyable look into the soap opera world.  The plot is an interesting one with a cast of characters who are all "characters" in the drama.  There are enough twists and turns in the action to keep the reader alert...enough twists and turns as in a soap opera....As the World Turns!

This is a quick read which will help pass an evening in a comfortable chair with a cup of Earl Grey tea...
