Divine Justice
Camel Club Book 4

by David Baldacci
Read by Ron McLarty

Divine Justice is a tale of injustice and retribution, power misused and abused, greed and hunger for more power. It begins with Oliver Stone, a Vietnam veteran whose real name is John Carr. As the story opens, Stone is swimming for shore after dumping the evidence of his crime in the ocean. He had been a hero in Vietnam, saving many lives while risking his own. His commanding officer had recommended him for the Medal of Honor, a rare privilege for someone still living.

Suddenly, all requests were dropped, and Carr’s family was killed. Carr asked no questions. He knew who was behind it and why. He simply assassinated the two men who had had his family killed and disappeared. That was when he became Oliver Stone.

Now, he feels the heat as his pursuers are getting close. That was the reason he got rid of the rifle and bloody clothes. When the FBI came to talk to his boss, his pretense of stupid slowness passed him, but they were still suspicious. Now, it was time for Oliver Stone to disappear and for John Carr to become someone else. He left, driving until he came to the small coal-mining town of Divine.

Divine Justice is well written, with an intriguing storyline based in the plot to bring retribution to those who killed Carr's family, which included assassinating the political underlings who arranged the murders, one of whom was a Senator. Once the last man had been killed, Carr could turn himself in to the FBI. Following in his path will keep you on the edge of your seat. The rest of the characters, good and bad, are equally well crafted. Mystery lovers will thoroughly enjoy Divine Justice. Pick up a copy and prepare for a treat.
