Fatal Fixer Upper
A Do-it-Yourself Mystery #1
by Jennie Bentley
Avery Baker, a New York textile designer, inherited her aunt's Maine cottage. She discovered the cottage to be in
great need of repairs and full of accumulated years of clutter. She is in the process of preparing it for sale when
she receives an offer to buy which seems unrelated to its value.
She decides to keep the property and renovate it herself. In doing so, she finds secrets of her aunt's past
hidden in the walls. Also, there are clues to the mysterious disappearance of a Professor Wentworth. With the help
of Derek Ellis, whose occupation is house restoration, she manages to thwart the local realtor and restore the
treasures discovered in the hidden tunnel.
Fatal Fixer Upper is a fun read. There is a cast of characters with wit and intelligence. There are
mysterious tunnels and priceless antiques. There is a budding romance between Avery and Derek. All the ingredients
for an enjoyable, entertaining reading experience.
Included is advice on renovation and repair. |
