Andrew Stoddard and Gabe Singleton were roommates at the Naval Academy at Annapolis. After his tour of military
duty Andrew went into politics and eventually became President of the United States. Gabe was expelled from the
Academy for allegedly killing a pregnant woman in a drunken accident. After serving a prison sentence for the
murder he went on to medical school (entrance made possible by Andrew's father's influence) and became a doctor
practicing in Wyoming.
When Jim Ferendelli, Andrew's White House personal physician, went missing, Andrew flew to Gabe's ranch in
Wyoming to ask him to return with him to Washington as his personal physician. Gabe reluctantly agrees.

forces are at work to bring down the President. With Alison's assistance Gabe must figure out who is behind the
President's mysterious illness. Everyone from the Vice President to members of the Secret Service is suspect.
Gabe must search into the past to learn the truth about his accident and how it has reached into the Presidency.
