Fudge-Laced Felonies
A Summer Meadows Mystery #1

by Cynthia Hickey

Fudge-Laced Felonies is a charming cozy mystery with delightful characters.  I enjoyed reading this Christian-based cozy mystery and recommend it to others who enjoy a good cozy mystery.  I am looking forward to reading more books by Cynthia Hickey in the Summer Meadows Mystery Series.

Summer Meadows grew up in Mountain Shadows, Arkansas.  After her parents’ deaths, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, with whom she lives, even though she is about to turn thirty.  The object of Summer’s affections is Ethan Banning, murderer extraordinaire, killer of Summer’s newly planted rose bush.

Ethan buys a new rose bush to replace the one he has inadvertently killed.  While digging to plant Summer’s new rose bush, he finds a black velvet bag full of diamonds along with a whole lot of money and a very bloody glove.

Summer opens her new candy store Summer Confections.  As if this ongoing diamond case, trying to figure out her  true feelings for Ethan and his for her, and running a candy store isn’t enough, a couple of dead bodies surface and bad things begin happening to Summer.  Seems she’s too close to figuring out the case, and the diamond thief and murderer wants her out of the way.
