No One Lives Forever
Sequel to No One Left to Tell

by Jordan Dane

Christian Delacourt is back from Jordan Dane’s second book No One Left to Tell (also reviewed on Myshelf.com). Christian finds himself in Brazil with the beautiful bodyguard Jasmine. At her special request, if not blackmail, she is hoping to get Christian to help her get her employer back. The kidnapping is complicated by the fact that Nicholas Charboneau is a mob boss and tied to a Brazilian genetics lab not to mention Christian’s real father. The locals do not appreciate Nicky’s ties to them and aren't anxious to help Jasmine and Christian get him back. Left to decipher the clues with time running out, Christian and Jasmine will be hard pressed to know who to trust and who might be willing to take their lives.

Christian’s job will not be easy between his mistrust of Jasmine and the fact that Christian has left his girlfriend, Detective Raven McKenzie, behind in the states. These choices don't sit well with Raven or Jasmine. Each woman may have to take things into their own hands. The story gets more exciting with the careful attention to detail about Brazil and the native culture.

No One Lives Forever is at times romantic but within the boundaries of not being branded "chick lit" and would be appealing to anyone. While not an ongoing series, the last book No One Left to Tell (also reviewed on Myshelf.com) and No One Lives Forever are connected by the lives of several central characters. They are strong enough to stand on their own in each book. I'd recommend reading all three of the author's books, though, as it was hard enough to put any down till the last page. It's not often that kind of thrilling suspense can be found in every book by a new author. Jordan Dane really knows how to captivate you till the last page.
