Notorious
Melanie Vargas book 4

by Michele Martinez

Fans of Michele Martinez won't be disappointed in this fourth book featuring federal prosecutor Melanie Vargas. With its fast-paced plot, Notorious is a gripping novel of suspense with lots of twists and turns along the way.

As Melanie Vargas stood in the grand plaza outside of the federal courthouse in New York City, talking to Lester Poe, the most famous criminal lawyer in America, she had no idea she was about to witness his brutal murder.

The case Lester Poe was working on at the time of his death was that of Atari Briggs, a famous rap singer, charged in a drug-murder case. With only ten days until trial, Evan Diamond, Lester's shady office partner, takes over this sensational drug-murder case.

Dan O'Reilly, an ex-boyfriend, reappears in Melanie's life and his reappearance is not a welcome sight. As a single, divorced mother with a demanding job, Melanie does not welcome Dan back into her life (especially after his betrayal of her with another woman).

Someone within the prosecutors' office is leaking information to the enemy. The more Melanie learns about Lester Poe after his death, the more Melanie realizes she didn't know much about him and he certainly wasn't the person she thought he was.

A nice little drug murder case has morphed into a major terrorism investigation. Clutching the St. Jude's medal that once belonged to Lester Poe for luck, Melanie works on her little piece of this gigantic puzzle.
