Skin and Bone
by Kathryn Fox
Homicide Detective Kate Farrer is back on the job after a few months of personal leave. On her first case since her
return, she finds herself with a disturbing crime scene: a dead woman burned to death with baby things nearby, but no
baby is found at the scene. Kate also finds herself with a new partner, Oliver Parke. Struggling to keep her own
problems in check, Kate finds herself thrown into a missing person case. Asked by her boss to handle the missing
teenager, Kate is resentful of possibly being taken away from the burned woman case. Slowly things come together,
making the cases possibly related.
The missing teenager and missing baby cases put Kate and Oliver on a collision course with a killer or killers.
Kate isn’t sure that trusting her new partner is the best idea, but if she wants to find out who burned the woman
and where the baby went, she may have to depend on him after all.
As in previous Kathryn Fox books, "Detective Kate" is a strong character. Written in the same genre as author
Patricia Cornwell, Kathryn Fox’s books and characters are interesting and thrilling, and Skin and Bone is that
page turner till the very end. |
