It’s good to see the Camel Club back in action. They are a well-meaning, likeable group of do-gooders. This time
they unite to help leader Oliver Stone and con-artist Annabelle Conroy as both become victims of deadly hunts.
Stone dresses like a homeless man and works in a cemetery, so to see him as former secret agent John Carr is
impossible but true. When members from his former team are found dead and his empty grave dug up, Stone knows he’s
uncovered and it’s a matter of time before they find his location. This has Stone hunting the killer to see why his
former team is being permanently eliminated.
Annabelle is hiding from Jerry Bagger. Bagger isn’t out to just teach Annabelle a lesson. He’s out to take her
life. Even she knows the best thing would be to leave the country. Annabelle conned Bagger out of millions. The
reason he became her target is finally revealed. And a long lost relative returns to help her turn the hunt back
on Bagger.
Henry Finn works for the Department of Homeland Security. As a family man, his wife and children could never
imagine him going undercover to commit murder. Henry feels what he’s doing is right and at some points the reader /
listener might even sympathize with him.
Stone Cold is a frightening illustration of what can happen when government branches go bad. Stone
Cold is a riveting tale with a gripping showdown. The ending will leave you stunned. Actor Ron McLarty does a
superb job narrating Hachette’s audio version.
