Takeover:
A Novel of Suspense
First book in the Theresa MacLean series
by Lisa Black
Takeover is the first in a new series from author Lisa Black featuring forensic scientist Theresa MacLean.
Theresa’s day goes from bad to worse, starting with a body found on a front lawn. The case twists into something
more than a murder when relatives of the deceased are missing and found to have been taken hostage at the Federal
Reserve Bank in downtown Cleveland. While investigating, Theresa’s detective fiancé Paul is led to the bank and is
also taken hostage.
Theresa goes to the scene, where chaos reigns both inside and outside the bank. Chris Cavanaugh is the head
negotiator but Theresa trusts her instincts more than she does Chris and ends up with a plan of her own. Theresa
decides to get into the bank and trade places with Paul after the criminals realize Paul is a cop. With a lot of
money at stake, innocent lives and a small child inside, Theresa must apply all her investigative skills to the
evidence around her if she hopes to save herself and the others from the murderers who have engaged in this
Takeover.
An exciting page turner with suspenseful twists you don't anticipate and a well crafted ending. Soundly written
characters and a storyline thrilling enough to make you want to know what happens to these people after the story
ends. Lucky for the readers who enjoy this book, a second book in this series is set to follow. |
