What Never Happens

by Anne Holt

What Never Happens is a gripping novel that delivers a punch. The twists and turns will keep you guessing to the very surprising end. What Never Happens is a well-written, captivating novel.

Fiona Helle from On The Move With Fiona, a popular talk show in Oslo, Norway, is found murdered in her home, with her tongue cut out. The tongue tip had also been split in two, clearly sending a message.

Adam Stubo is called in on this sensational case. He and his wife, Johanne Vik, are a husband and wife team of detectives who, not five hours earlier, welcomed their first daughter together into the world.

Victoria Heinerback, a politician, is brutally murdered in her bed with a leather-bound copy of the Koran shoved inside of her.

Katinka Olsson, a prostitute, is found dead at the bottom of a stairwell in a parking lot. Her cause of death is a drug overdose - or so it seems. No one wonders why the dead prostitute smelled fresh and clean and wore newly washed clothing.

Then a third celebrity, an author, is found murdered in his apartment with a pen stuck in his eye. Adam and Johanne scramble to solve the killings. Johanne, an expert criminal profiler, can find no connection between the murders, no common features seem to exist - there is no where to go. Will Johanne and Adam be able to figure out this baffling mystery and stop this monster from killing yet another celebrity?
