When Zeffie Got a Clue
A Cozy Mystery, Book 3

by Peggy Darty

When Zeffie Got a Clue, by Peggy Darty, what a cute book! This is one of those books that I didn't want to put down, I really mean it!

I started reading this book on a short flight from San Antonio to Houston the other day. I wish it had been a longer flight. I got to the hotel and had a couple of hours before my event, so I read. When I got back to the hotel that night, I read some more. Morning arrived and you got it... I read some more.

Christy Castleman is an author and she writes mysteries about local events. She also co-owns a resale shop in a quiet little Florida town with her Aunt Bobbie. One morning, in walks a little girl about ten years old. In her hands she has a beat up old jewelry box. Her grandmother Molly is sick and they need some money. After talking with Zeffie a little while Christy decides to give the little girl $20.00 for the music box, a lot more than it is worth... or is it?

The whole town falls in love with Zeffie, and as it's just her and her sick grandma, they all take to making her happy and feel loved. Zeffie's mom died a few years back, and Molly has been raising her ever since.

What will happen to Zeffie when Molly passes away? Keep reading to find out!

Now back to the jewelry box - it holds a clue to a murder that took place about ten years earlier. Christy makes it her mission to find out what happened on that night ten years ago when a friend of hers, Kirby Strickland, was murdered. It's a cold case that gets reopened all because Zeffie Got a Clue.

As I said earlier, this is a wonderful book which keeps you moving, tugs at your heart strings and makes you want to know what happened. Enjoy, as I did!
