The ladies from the Murder Club are back and—as always—in rare form. Detective
Lindsay Boxer and her handsome partner, Rich Conklin, are assigned an unusual case. Someone is
killing the rich and beautiful in San Francisco and even Claire, the Chief Medical examiner, is
having trouble pinpointing cause of death.
Cindy, the newspaper journalist, has happened upon a street crime killing that she is
determined to see solved, even if she has to do it herself. A street preacher named Bagman Jones
is found beaten to death, and no one but the homeless and street people seem to care.
Yuki is prosecuting a case where a well off young woman has beaten her father to death and left
her mother in terrible shape, and it looks like the girl's attorney just may get her off.
Intertwined throughout the story are the sparks that have begun to fly between Cindy and Rich,
Lindsay’s unseemly jealousy, and a perfect love interest for Yuki. Or is it?
I always enjoy James Patterson’s books. I have read each and every
one. With this audio the pleasure was doubled by the narration of
Carolyn McCormick, who at times made the listener feel as if there
were as many narrators as characters. I highly recommend this audio.
