Beware the Barracuda

by Donald Robert Wilson

Senator Hamilton has reason to believe that five huge conglomerates are secretly absorbing other companies with the intent of combining into one, thereby obtaining control of the economy and then the government. He sends his aide, Sophie Wojnicki to enlist the assistance of Dr Brad James, CEO of Concord Dimensions, with the investigation.

Sophie doesn't have much success in convincing Brad of the conspiracy until one of his own companies is targeted.

He finds his wife is closely attached to Douglas Kent who seems to be the leader of the conspiracy. Brad and Sophie become allies and work to try to defeat the conspiracy. They uncover money laundering, murder, kidnapping, and blackmail. In the course of their investigations, they are the targets of murder themselves and are in danger of losing their lives, as have other innocent people involved in the investigation. They must fight to resolve the situation so the guilty can be brought to justice.

Beware the Barracuda is a timely warning about the present day takeovers in the headlines. The action is fast moving and suspenseful.

The characters are well-developed. This well-written book sends a message to us about the need to be alert and perceptive about the economic world around us.
