Final Approach

by Rachel Brady

Emily Locke’s life took an unexpected tragic turn several years ago when her infant daughter and husband were killed in a horrible accident. Now, four years later, she’s being approached by a PI to assist with a case of missing children that is centered around a skydiving facility. Emily feels the need to assist with this case due to the loss of her own child. Will Emily be able to find this child before it’s too late? Will she be able to find out what really happened to her own daughter?

Rachel Brady does a good job in her debut novel.  She takes the genre of mystery and puts her own little curve on it genre with the skydiving atmosphere. It seems that Ms. Brady has taken some skydives herself or at least did a lot of research to get the information correct.

There seemed to be some background to the relationship between Emily and the PI, Richard Cole, but it was never established.  This reader feels that that relationship should have been discussed a lot more in Final Approach. It would have clarified why Emily felt the need to help Richard out, beyond just trying to find a missing child. The twist connecting Emily's life was good The action seemed to climax during the middle of Final Approach, but there was plenty of heightened tension near the end.
