The Hunted

by Brian Haig

Alex Konevitch, a Russian entrepreneur, is sought out by the Russian mob following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Many believe that he is stealing millions from his business. Several top executives in his successful business are being murdered one by one. In searching for security, Alex picks the wrong person to handle it and is forced to escape to the United States with his wife by his side. Both the FBI and the KGB are after him, thinking that he stole millions of dollars.

The Hunted is based on a true story, one that is so incredible it’s hard to believe that it could have really happened. The suspense is well developed and leaves the reader wanting more. Konevitch’s character is one that many can relate to, despite the many differences there might be between them.

Considering that The Hunted is based on a real story, the settings of Russia and Washington, DC are very important and play a big but subtle role in the development of the plot. Brian Haig does a wonderful job in incorporating the setting, the plot and the character development throughout the story.
