Meltdown
Task Force Valor, Book 3

by Chuck Holton

Meltdown is a thriller, but a refreshing one in that it has no profanity or sex. Due to the nature of the story, it does contain violence. But it is an interesting story. Robert Sweeney is a young man who is not yet a Christian, though his father was a minister. Robert, or Bobby as he preferred to be called, was a master sergeant in the army Rangers. His family disapproved of his choice of careers, but Bobby didn’t care. He loved his work.

Bobby was a member of a team called Task Force Valor. Though the team was army Rangers, they were on loan to The CIA. They had almost died in Panama the year before, during an operation. Now, they were after the same explosive, ITEB. This stuff was extremely volatile. It was in liquid form, but when it came in contact with oxygen, it would explode. This time, they were going to Europe, to the Ukraine to be exact. Their mission was to retrieve the explosive before it could be used.

Meltdown is a fascinating story, filled with action and suspense. The characters are quite believable, including the preacher’s kid. Mary Walker, head of the team, was not a Christian either, but watching her and Bobby wrestle with their disbelief is a totally human thing, as is watching them come to change their minds. The action is nonstop as the team battles Muslim terrorists to keep them from destroying the concrete cage around the Chernobyl reactor. But can they find the ITEB before it is used? Meanwhile, can their stateside teammates find the rest of the stuff that is blowing up sites in the United States? Read Meltdown and all of the others that concern Task Force Valor. You’ll be in for a treat!
