Probable Claws
A Theda Krakow Mystery #4

by Clea Simon

Probable Claws by Clea Simon is a wonderful little mystery!

Take a person who used to be a veterinary technician, and give them a murder mystery book focused around animals, in this case cats, and you have something truly wonderful!

Theda Krakow is a is a writer whose main focus is music, mainly new bands trying to get their music in the door.  Two of her friends run animal shelters whose goal is finding homes for the animals rather than euthanizing them.  So what do the three of them have in common, besides their love for cats?  Funny you should ask, murder of course!

Violet calls Theda frantically concerning her cats, it seems they were poisoned and she wants Theda's help to find out by whom.  So they take the opened bag of cat food to Rachel, a veterinarian at the city's animal shelter, where she agrees to run some tests on the food.  She discovers that the food has a cocoa-type substance on it, which is deadly to cats.  So how did it get on the food?  Was it on purpose or by accident?  Who did it? And why?

Theda is trying to find out all of these things, but is arrested instead for Rachel Weinstock’s murder.

Now Theda has to try and clear her name, find out about the tainted cat food and find a new job.

Let's all read this wonderful book together and discover the mystery that unveils!
