The Harris family is a well known Mafia-type family with a reputation for being extremely brutal. They not only kill their enemies in the most horrible of ways, they go after the enemies' families, friends and even business acquaintances. They try to wipe out all evidence of their enemies' existence.

Samuel Harris is the leader of the Harris family. Samuel has built his family by taking in women who have been horribly abused and making them first part of his family, and then his most skilled assassins.

Nick Miller thought he was just an average guy from an average family until his father was murdered by the Harris family. Now Nick must discover his family’s secrets. He is a hunted man with a target on his back and will surely die if he cannot.

This is my first instance of what I am being told is urban fiction. I was a bit put off at first by the fact that the writer uses two different voices with differing points of view.

After immersing myself in the book I realized that this was very hard for a writer to do and Ms. Pledger pulled it off well.

A warning to many people: there are many scenes of extreme violence and sexual scenes. It did not bother me but could some. There are more here than in almost anything I have read.
