Six Seconds

by Rick Mofina

This book caught my eye at the local grocery store book rack, and I was not disappointed.

Mofina has crafted a top-notch thriller that kept me reading most of the night. Six Seconds could be right out of today's headlines, but the terrorist plot in it is truly unique, with exciting characters. I would definitely love to see the Canadian Mountie, Dan Graham, in more adventures.

Dan blames himself for the tragic accident that took his wife, and seems to be on his way to ending his own life when he spots a little girl in need of rescue in a treacherous river. He does pull her from the river, but her dying words send Dan on a mission to find her missing father.

A nurse from Iraq saves the life of an American contractor, and then follows him home with a revenge mission in mind.

The contractor's wife is searching for the husband who kidnapped their small son and then vanished...she just wants her son back.

Now they converge on the tiny Montana town where the Pope is scheduled to pay a visit, which figures in the plans of the lady from Iraq and the renegade terrorists who hope to create a huge, devastating event that will send the future on a new path.

The suspense builds at break-neck speed to a stunning climax. This is Mofina's ninth suspense novel, and it is sure to send him to the best-seller lists. It has certainly sent me in search of his earlier works.
