Swimsuit

by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

Kim McDaniels received the opportunity of a lifetime: to model swimsuits in beautiful Hawaii. Little did she or her parents realize the trouble this would get her into. Her parents asked Ben Hawkins, an ex-cop and now newspaper reporter, to investigate their daughter’s disappearance. Little did Ben realize what was in store for him: a killer who was hired to kill for show; a killer who has decided to take it to a new level. Will Ben be able to help solve the mystery of Kim’s disappearance before it’s too late?

James Patterson continues to whip up novels and get them out to the masses in record numbers. This does not indicate whether these books are any good or not. This time he worked with Maxine Paetro and developed a mystery set in Hawaii with a hired killer. The characterizations are not at all in-depth. Readers will still get an idea of what is important to Ben Hawkins but not many other characters. The setting of Hawaii does not play a substantial role. The mystery is light and does not have a huge level of twists, turns, or suspense.

People who enjoy quick mystery reads without a lot of gore or suspense will appreciate Patterson’s style and thoroughly enjoy Swimsuit.
