The Bride Collector

by Ted Dekker

In the Denver area a serial killer has murdered four beautiful women, leaving behind at the scene a bridal veil. FBI Special Agent Brad Raines has no clues and decides to seek help from a resident of the Center for Wellbeing and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill people who are extraordinarily gifted. Here he meets Paradise, a young woman diagnosed as schizophrenic, who has witnessed her father murder her family. She has an extraordinary gift, the ability to experience the final moments of a person's life when she touches the dead body. Brad hopes that by touching the dead woman she will be able to identify the killer.

The killer increases his murderous spree. Raines' friend and colleague, Nikki Holden, a forensic psychologist, is his final target as his next "bride." Only Paradise can save her.

The Bride Collector is a psychological thriller with an unusual concept for solving crimes. The story is well plotted with excellent characterization. The suspense is constant, beginning from the first page to the end.
