Deliver
Us From Evil
By David Baldacci
Read by Ron McLarty
Shaw
is a secret agent, of sorts. In The
Whole Truth he and journalist Katie James worked to stop a man
creating wars to make money. This time Shaw is determined to deliver
the US from evil. The evil is a man named Waller. Waller sells children
into prostitution and now looking to sell nuclear material to Islamic
fundamentalists. Shaw’s boss wants to convince Waller it’s
in his best interest to give them the info on the fundamentalists.
Shaw quickly discovers Waller is an evil man with no interest in
coming clean.
There is another group interested in Waller, too. But they know
him as Kuchin, a Ukrainian war criminal. A woman named Regina Campion
is sent to live next door to him in Provence. She and Shaw meet
up and sparks fly. Neither is aware of the other’s interest
in the predator next door. When Shaw and Reggie get too close to
Kuchin everything is revealed. The action really picks up and at
some points it gets really gross.
Baldacci makes mention of Kate from The Whole Truth. Shaw
seems to have met his match in Reggie but still haunted by Kate
and how he left her. Deliver Us from Evil is an international thriller
full of intense scenes and strong content. Listen to both and get
double the international entertainment.
Ron McLarty is a veteran at narrating. He has the perfect voice
for suspense.
