Evidence
An Alex Delaware novel #24

by Jonathan Kellerman

In a half-finished mansion in an exclusive area the watchman finds the bodies of a couple in a post mortem embrace.

Detective Mil Sturgis is called in to investigate the deaths. The murdered man, Desmond Backer, is identified as the member of a recently dissolved eco-friendly architectural firm. He had the reputation of being involved with all the women in the firm.

Sturgis finds mystery about the ownership of the property. It is traced to a holding company in Washington DC and has mysterious connections to foreign investors, leading to political situations and the Feds. Sturgis calls in Alex Delaware to help unravel the situation. He has too many suspects, from his own boss to the home owner to an Arab prince.

This is a story full of twists and turns with inspired police work by Sturgis who is the main focus. Delaware is only a supporting character. The plot is complex with vengeance, blackmail and conspiracy. Only the work of Sturgis and the insights of Delaware can lead to a successful conclusion.
