Innocent
By Scott Turow
Rusty
Sabich, a chief judge of an appellate court, finds his wife, Barbara,
dead under mysterious circumstances. Tommy Molto, county prosecuting
attorney, who had prosecuted Sabich for murder 20 years ago ( Presumed
Innocent) accuses him of murdering Barbara. There is enough circumstantial
evidence to sustain the charge of murder, but other evidence uncovered
during the trial casts doubts about her death. Was it murder? Or
was it suicide? It becomes Molto's aim to win this case, not to
lose a second time.
This
is a thoroughly engrossing thriller. The characters are complex.
The plot is complex. The court episodes are well executed and explosive.
