This is the third book that I have read in the Brady Novel of Suspense series and like the
two before, I really enjoyed it.
Joanna Brady has been elected as the new Sheriff of Cochise County. One of the first things
that she needs to do is take a crash course in police training. Jumping into the role of Sheriff
is just that, jumping into something that she doesn't know anything about, especially safety.
She is scheduled to begin her training the week of Thanksgiving. That might seem like a strange
time to begin, but with the death of her husband, Andy, just two short months before, it made
the most sense for her. Who wants to be home during the holidays, without your soul mate by
your side?
As Joanna begins her training, life at home seems to be running right on track. Her in-laws
are caring for her daughter Jenny, and all three of them will come down to Peoria the day before
Thanksgiving to share the holiday with Joanna. Simple plan right? But things will take a strange
turn for the worse, just as the eve of Thanksgiving gets closer.
Pay close attention as you read any of J.A. Jance's books. She has a way of telling her tale
so that, before you know it, the end of the book is just a few pages away and you had no idea who
the bad guy was until then. As with the previous books, this one is fast paced, yet written well
and a great story. I can't wait to read the next one!
