Sizzling Sixteen
Stephanie Plum, No 16

By Janet Evanovich
Read by Lorelei King

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum and office clerk (former ho) Lula are hunting Stephanie's cousin/boss Vinnie Plum. Connie, Vinnie's office manager, tells them Bookie Nicky snatched Vinnie off Stark Street. Vinnie owes Nicky a lot of money. And the price is going up with each passing day. Connie also warns them Bobby Sunflower (one of Vinnie's connections) has a war on with an under-the-radar mob guy. The ladies turn to Ranger with his Rangeman security equipment and boyfriend/cop Morelli for added assistances. Throw in a bounty hunt and Stephanie's day is sufficiently packed.

It's a mystery laden with stink bombs, fires, near misses, temptation, and quick wit. Let's just hope they all make it out alive.

Lorelei King narrates the audio version. She sure knows how to play up the dialogue and bring the quirkiness of each character to life. Evanovich's delivery (humor) is throughout -- from setting a scene to describing a character to dialogue. You know upfront this mystery is meant to make you smile. And I did.
