Sibly Adams, blind college
professor is drugged, raped, savagely mutilated and left for dead
in the toilet of the local diner. Dr Sara Linton, the local pediatrician
and medical examiner, discovers the body and is horrified by the
results of the autopsy. Sara’s ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey
Tolliver, has no leads and no suspects when a missing college coed
is found raped, drugged and crucified. Then detective Lena Adams,
Sibyl' s twin sister, who has vowed vengeance is abducted. Is there
a serial killer in their midst? Sara begins to suspect the rapes
and murders may be connected with her own rape twelve years ago.
Even though their relations are strained Sara and Jeffrey must search
into the past to find the identity of the killer before he can strike
again -- with Sara as his target.
This is a fast paced
thriller with a very inventive plot. There are many suspects to
keep the reader in suspense. Sara is a strong woman who is struggling
to overcome the trauma of her past experience and cope with her
strained and ambivalent relationship with her ex-husband, Chief
Tolliver
