Dr. Brockton is a forensic
anthropologist, who is in charge of the well-known Body Farm in
Knoxville, Tennessee. The Body Farm is a 4 acre section attached
to the University of Tennessee where donated cadavers are used to
conduct experiments about how a body degenerates after death and
many other things.
Brockton is called to
draw a DNA for a local attorney to help prove paternity. The sample
is to be taken from a corpse that has been interred for 8 years.
Upon exhumation Dr, Brockton learns that the cadaver has been desecrated,
actually body sections are missing and the hunt is on.
Before the story is
told Brockton will discover a body parts for sale scheme, be asked
to go against all he believes in and lose the trust of friends and
colleagues he holds most dear.
I have been following
the story of Dr. Bill Brockton since Jefferson Bass released his
first book. Actually, since Jefferson Bass is a duo of two men,
Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass who is an actual founder and colleague
at the true Body Farm.
I know the area that
most of the books take place and that makes the stories much more
enjoyable. The fresh dose of reality in each book and the fact that
some of the tales seem to come from today’s headlines are
refreshing and interesting.
