Lulu Taylor,
60ish, owner of Aunt Pat's Barbeque restaurant serves the best barbeque
ribs and spicy cornbread in Memphis. She is surrounded by her friends
and family. Evelyn, one of the docents of Graceland (Elvis Presley's
mansion, as if you didn't know) has been a loyal customer. She is
blinded by her love for her former husband, Adam who has cheating
ways and is always looking for money. Lulu wants to protect her
from Adam.
Lulu has another
worry. An anonymous food critic has given a bad review to her restaurant
as well as other restaurants, some of which were forced to close.
She learns
that Adam is the anonymous food critic. He is found murdered. There
is no lack of suspects: his ex-wives, the former restaurant owners,
and perhaps someone from Lulu's circle. To exonerate her friends,
Lulu sets out to find the murderer. While she is involved in this,
the group must also pull together for a most interesting wedding
at Graceland.
This is a story
of family and friendship, loyalty and Southern charm mixed with
murder, mayhem and intrigue. The characters are true to life. They
make you laugh and cry and sympathize.
As a bonus
some delicious and mouth watering recipes are included at the end
of the book.
