They call themselves “The Sixes” and this group of college
coeds help one another get whatever each one desires, no matter
the cost. Wielding their power from the shadows, these females take
the expression “mean girl” to a new level. And if any
one of them opts out of the group, she does so at her own risk!
Phoebe Hall’s life has started to come unraveled, so she
has agreed to a short teaching stint at the small private college
in Pennsylvania run by a former school friend. Hoping to get herself
“together,” poor Phoebe finds herself drawn into the
investigation of a student’s mysterious death. Since she had
recently met the dead girl and, as a researcher, enjoys what she
calls “Sherlocking”, Phoebe starts digging for clues
as to what happened.
Suddenly the subject of nasty pranks, the amateur sleuth next
finds that she is receiving death threats. Perhaps she’s in
over her head but, for better or for worse, this indomitable woman
is bent on finding out whodunit. The question is: is she willing
to pay the ultimate price to find out?
If you enjoy mysteries with an academic twist and a mostly all
girl cast of characters, you’ll find The Sixes-” much
to your liking. Kate White doesn’t hold anything back in this
thriller that will have you checking the doors at night to make
sure they are locked before you begin reading!
