Paula Holliday left the New York scene to start a new life with the Dirty Garden Solutions in Springfield, Conn. She finds herself back in New York at the Big Apple Flower show at the Javitz Center, sitting and watching over the garden sculptures made from junk objects created by Springfield artist Primo Danstan. She finds herself involved in a series of accidents, sabotage and murder which may be intended to discredit the reputation of the Javitz Center or with the new gardening product, Slugfest, which a few people wish to control.

This is a delightful, witty step into the world of conventions. The plot is entertaining as well as compelling. We meet eccentric as well as sinister characters. You have to love Yolanda ”Fort” Know, a no-nonsense security guard and J. C. Kaufman, a feisty lady who travels with her trusty weapon. Paula's observations about life around her at the convention are entertaining as well as thoughtful.
