Gigi’s
Gourmet De-Lite food business is finally going to take off. Branston
Foods want Gigi Fitzgerald to produce a line of gourmet diet food
for them. Her client list is keeping her busy. One of her newest
clients, Marsha Bernhardt, is also the restaurant reviewer for the
local newspaper – Woodstone Times. Gigi figures she might
get some good publicity from Marsha if she likes the food.
I don’t
think Marsha will be giving the Gourmet De-Lite food a rave review
... or any kind of a review for that matter since she died after
eating the lunch Gigi prepared for her. It looks like she might
have had a heart attack and crashed her car.
Hunky police
detective Bill Mertz lets Gigi know that Marsha was poisoned. There
was peanut oil all over the food that Gigi prepared for her. Since
Gigi seems to be the prime suspect, she had better harness her inner
Nancy Drew and start stirring the pot to solve this murder before
she ends up without a job and in the pokey.
Things to ponder:
Why were Marsha’s ex-husband and his wife sitting in their
car during the rainy lunch break? Who was Marsha arguing with on
the phone at the Woodstone Theatre? Will Gigi be able to keep renting
her cottage since Marsha was the owner?
Allergic
To Death does not disappoint. It was a delectably fast read
for me. I loved the characters and can’t wait to read more
about them in Steamed To Death coming out in June 2013.
Peg has also included some delicious and healthy recipes as well
as some diet tips.
