Agatha Raisin is quite a character. She's middle aged, outspoken, and still in the process of finding herself. Agatha doesn't let age or anyone slow her down. She loves a good mystery and wants to enjoy a healthy relationship with the opposite sex -- if she can get just one of her two current interests to participate. Agatha enjoys a little time in close quarters with her ex and attempts to connect with a handsome newcomer.

Agatha's current mystery is a body roasted on a spit like a pig. The victim turns out to be an unlikeable police officer everyone in the Cotswold area has had a run in with him, including Agatha. She threatened him after he ticketed her for taking her hands off the steering wheel while the car was sitting still. The mystery itself takes a turn here and there but eventually leads Agatha and her friends in a correct, but deadly direction.

Listeners will have various reactions to Agatha, depending on what she·s up to. The sub-characters play off her character very well. And let·s not forget her two cats. It's a solid group of characters that make for a very entertaining series.

Narrator of the audio version is Penelope Keith. She really does justice to Agatha·s character -- it's quite funny.
