The 20th title in this very popular mystery series finds Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen and her sleuthing buddies Mrs. Murphy, Pewter, and the rest of the menagerie looking into a series of mysterious but connected car accidents. The informal investigation is kicked into high gear when the local auto mechanic is attacked.

Of course, everyone urges the ex-postmistress to stay "out of it" but there's no way she and her team of four-legged detectives intend to steer clear of this situation. Harry's race towards the truth places her on a collision course with an adversary who doesn't intend to let anyone shine a spotlight on his clandestine activities. If this means running the nosy woman off the road for good - so be it!

With five million copies of this series now in print, there's no arguing with success. Animal lovers and mystery fans have combined to make this one of the top niche suspense series in print. Brown's combination of claw-biting suspense and down home charm is hard to beat.
