Ginny Mallard
runs her own Concierge company. Doing just about anything a client
needs, from finding the best sleep-away camp for a child, to booking
airline tickets or planning a wedding. While having a drink and
relaxing at Mary’s, a local bar, she overhears a customer
talking to Teddy the bartender about a business problem. Before
you can blink, Ginny has offered her company services to Walter
Jacobs. What she hadn’t counted on was that DubJay (Walter’s
nickname) wanted her to find his missing Uncle Joe. It seems that
there is a huge deal happening in a few days and Uncle Joe took
the papers that pertain to the real estate deal.
Ginny figures
it is just another research project and she is good at that. DubJay
is paying her more than her regular rate. The only problem is that
she has just three days to find Uncle Joe. She tricks Teddy into
helping her. Her trivia nemesis hates to lose a challenge.
Things to ponder: Who sent Ginny the threatening text warning her
off the assignment? Would she look good in a fedora? Is DubJay on
the up-and-up or could he really be involved in a shady deal? Is
Uncle Joe still alive or is he now in an unmarked grave?
I so enjoyed
this book that I tried to read it slowly to make the fun last longer.
However, once I get involved in a good book I can’t put it
down. This is a great first book in what I hope is the first of
many. Throw in some adorable furry guys that want to help their
humans: Penny the cat and Georgie the Shar Pei and you have hooked
me. So, if you like a cozy mystery with sparring protagonists then
this is the book for you. |
