Aptly named, Sunny Meadows usually does have a sunny disposition. She's happy in her new hometown of Divinity - especially since she is no longer a suspect in the murder of the town librarian. (see Tempest in the Tea Leaves.) There are newcomers in town, one being Sunny's Granny Gert, and the other being Isabel Gonzales, the ex-girlfriend of Detective Mitch Stone.

Isabel is gorgeous and Sunny is hit by the green-eyed monster. Although she is loath to admit it, she secretly harbors feelings for Mitch. Isabel disappears and Sunny's reputation as a psychic leads the police to turn to her for help. Isabel's body is found and she's left a clue: a clue that points to Mitch as her killer. Will Sunny be able to use her psychic powers for good, and in time to save Mitch? Or will the murderer target Sunny as she gets closer to the truth? Thank goodness Granny Gert is around to help keep Sunny's spirits lifted.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series "Tempest in the Tea Leaves," and was delighted to review it for MyShelf. Author Townsend has come through again with another winner of a mystery. Atmosphere is important in a book, and to quote Sunny, speaking about her friend Jo who runs Smoky Joe's Tavern, "…Jo had always said a cozy atmosphere was half the battle in establishing a successful business." The same can be said of a book; especially a cozy mystery. Townsend provides readers with a very cozy small town atmosphere with the added one-two punch of the paranormal and humor.

If you love a good mystery full of intrigue and drama and humor and romance you won't want to miss Corpse in the Crystal Ball.

Add it to your summer reading list…and put it right at the top!
