The U.S. desperately
needs to maintain their airbase in Kyrgyzstan as a gateway to Afghanistan
and the ongoing operations there, but the Kyrgyzstani government
is threatening to close that airbase to the U. S.
Amelia Lennon is an Army trained Foreign Affairs Officer negotiating
this dispute with her government contact, Jildiz Oskonbaeva, the
lawyer daughter of Kyrgyzstan's president. Enroute to the meeting,
Amelia manages to foil the attempted kidnapping of Jildiz by the
faction that wants to overthrow the Kyrgyzstani government. She
kills two of the abductors and now the two women are on the run.
Outwitting and hiding from their pursuers means that Amelia and
Jildiz are also hiding from their rescuers.
Master Sergeant
J. J. Bartley is the Special Operations leader of the team that
has been sent to rescue the two women. The city is in complete chaos,
with rioting on every street by mobs intent on overthrowing the
government.
This action packed story of six men and a woman with incredible
courage and honor, introduces new nano-technology in the field of
military surveillance. Major Jeff Struecker has lived the Special
Operations missions, and puts his expertise into the plot with incredible
action scenes that left me breathless.
The characters are compelling and unforgettable. I was really emotionally
involved when the wives of the team are misinformed and told that
the entire team has been killed. Struecker and Gansky also authored
three previous books following this team on their Special Operations....Certain
Jeopardy, Blaze of Glory, and Fallen Angel. While
there are references to previous episodes, this is a stand alone
novel.
