Written by a 47 year veteran lawyer, this book reads like a Hollywood movie. This unique story begins in Philadelphia where twelve wives are convinced to murder their husbands. You will ask how this could possibly be a true story? And, I agree it does sound farfetched; that is why it is perfect for a Hollywood movie. But it is true.

The year was 1938, during the Depression, when everyone was desperate for money. These women were no exception. Lillian stands in front of her dying husband in the upstairs bedroom while he gasps his last breath. Tears of relief fill her eyes as she feels for any signs of a pulse. Not stopping to call his doctor, she walks downstairs into the arms of her handsome lover. It was over. Little did the tanned Casanova know that his reign of preying on unfaithful lovers was about to end, for the next day an autopsy would seal his fate.

Gus Pelagatti does a great job of making this true story read like a murder mystery novel. Based on a real insurance scam of the 30's, this story will capture you from the first chapter and not let you go. Pelagatti doesn't write from the dry perspective of a lawyer; no offense Gus, but with feeling and intrigue. Great read for a "can't put it down" sitting.
