P.J.
Parrish is the pen name of two sisters, Kristy Montee
and Kelly Nichols, who have collaborated on this popular
mystery series. In this latest Louis Kincaid adventure
the authors use their familiarity with not only the
character’s home base, Florida, but also Michigan,
where one of the sisters now lives.
Kincaid has returned home to bond with
Lily, his ten year old daughter (he just recently discovered
he was a father), and reunite with his former girlfriend,
Joe Frye.
The trip takes an odd detour when, while
visiting Mackinac Island, Lily stumbles upon the corpse
of a teenager who has been missing for two years. This
discovery opens up the cold case into what happened
to the girl from a wealthy family who was vacationing
on the island.
Kincaid is forced to work with a state
investigator who once worked with Joe and that makes
for more tension than any of them need at this time.
What follows is a story of dark family secrets and a
series of revelations that make Kincaid almost wish
he never left Florida.
If you have been following this series
you’ll definitely wish to read “Heart of
Ice” to see how the relationship develops between
Kincaid and Frye. First time readers will find this
a spellbinding story that will make them want to go
back and read some of the previous novels featuring
these two characters.
