Olivia
Greyson is going full steam ahead with baking cookies for
her best friend Maddie's engagement party. Olivia owns her
own cookie shop, The Gingerbread House, so baking cookies
is her forte. When soap opera actor Trevor Lane comes to Chatterley
Heights, trouble rears its ugly head.
Trevor
left many a resident with a bad taste in their mouths. Not
even Olivia's sweet cookies could take that away. With grudges
against him all over town, Trevor is murdered. He's found
dead outside The Gingerbread House, with a cookie cutter image
of a judge's gavel burned into his cheek. There are more suspects
than chocolate chips in most cookies. Who is the killer, and
why did they kill him and leave his body on The Gingerbread
House porch?
This
is such an enjoyable series. I love Olivia's little Yorky,
whose name is Spunky. Olivia and Maddie's friendship is special
and strong. Their good friend Stacey is a suspect and the
best friends know they have to clear her name
and while
they are at it, stop the killer from striking again.
I found
this to be a fast and fun read, appropriate for teens and
adults. I was surprised that of the two recipes in the back,
only one is for cookies. The other is for a chicken dish.
Nevertheless, be prepared to want to bake some cookies, or
at the very least, have some delicious cookies on hand to
munch on while you read.
