In this
fourth entry of the Ivy Beasley Mystery series, we find our
heroine, Ivy, as feisty as ever. Her engagement to Roy Goodman
has fueled the excitement of the Springfields Luxury Retirement
Home as plans are made for a May 5th event.
Roy wants his nephew, Steven, to be his best man and Ivy is
unhappy about that, as Steven is rude and obnoxious. She isn't
unhappy on that front for long though, as Steven turns up
dead. Dead in a bed at the furniture store where he worked.
Who could have killed him? Moreover, who is threatening Ivy
and Roy's upcoming marriage? Enquire Within, the sleuthing
agency that Ivy founded will have to dig up some dirt to get
to the truth.
Between
the goings on at Springfields, the plans for the wedding,
the murder, and a series of mysterious threats, I found myself
turning pages faster than I'd planned, and I read the book
in one afternoon. Now that I've finished, however, I wish
I'd savored it longer!
Featuring
a trio of mysteries for Enquire Within to solve, a cast of
cagey small town characters, romance, jealousy, the wisdom
born of age, a dash of humor, and the realistic way the main
characters tolerate each other's little foibles, there's something
in this book for all types of cozy readers to enjoy.
Ann Purser
has another hit, full of wit and charm and I can't wait for
the next book in the series. Write On, Ann!
