Threadville, PA, is the home of Willow Vanderling, who is the owner of an embroidery shop aptly named “In Stitches.” Willow loves Threadville, and has survived two previous murder mysteries that enveloped the small town in suspicion and fear. When a new murder and an old murder both surface in her own backyard, will Willow be able to keep her composure and stitch together the clues that solve the crimes?

There is a town legend about Snoozy Gallagher, who allegedly stole a bag of valuable jewels over thirty years ago, never to be seen again. Until, that is, the excavation of a body behind “In Stitches,” that may very well be Snoozy. Shortly thereafter, Willow, and her boyfriend, Clay, dig up the missing jewels- also on her property.

With her trustee sidekick, Haylee, and Haylee’s three mothers, along with Willow’s four-legged family of dogs and new kittens, this book effuses charm. I especially love the scenes in which one of Willow’s dogs, Sally-Forth, nurtures the kittens that she rounded up and adopted.

One of my favorite things about Thread and Buried is that I never for a minute guessed the answers to any of the mysteries contained within its pages. I found it to be a thoroughly satisfying cozy mystery, sure to delight mystery lovers everywhere. This would be a great beach read, book group read, or a book mothers and daughters could enjoy together.
