All her adult life, Casey Feldman has been temping her way through many jobs. She recently moved to Cadbury by the Sea, CA, and into her Aunt Joan’s guest house. Casey is a great baker and does the desserts for the Blue Door restaurant and muffins for coffee selling shops in the area. Unfortunately, Aunt Joan was killed in a hit and run accident. Now Casey has to step up and run the last scheduled Yarn Retreat.

Take a bunch of knitters and put them together and you would think harmony would flow among them. Wrong…these ladies – I mean ladies and a gentleman – are there with their own agendas. Kris, the master knitter, is sure the group will mesh. Casey is not sure, especially with Edie spouting off and finishing everyone’s sentences. Each retreater is given an individual project --- even Casey, who is a novice knitter.

Day two finds the retreaters all assembled in the Cypress building. That is, everyone except Edie. Casey, Lucinda and Kris go to her room and have housekeeping open the door for them. They find Edie looking peaceful in bed, however, there are knitting needles in her chest and when Casey checks for a pulse – they have one dead knitter. Casey better be careful trying to solve this murder – she could end up with dropped stitches.

Things to ponder: Why kill a person that talked too much? Will Casey sell her Aunt Joan’s retreat business to Kevin St John? Who was the man that Edie was looking at during the dinner meal? Will Casey find a connection between the deaths of the three retreaters?

What a great start to a new series. But I would expect nothing less from the very talented Betty Hechtman - author of the Crochet Mysteries. This was a real pager turner, and I ended up staying up until the wee hours to finish – I needed to find out whodunit. Write fast Betty – I will want to know what is up with Casey real soon. So if you like a mystery that will not provide even tension, then you should be reading Yarn to Go.
