Amore
Chocolates is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary with a
chocolate tasting at the family mansion. Sophie Winston is
hired to run the event in her inimitable Domestic Diva style.
Sophie's hopes for the celebration to go off without a hitch
are quickly dashed when the CEO, Joe Merano disappears, followed
by the discovery of the body of Arnaud Turnebe, a competing
Chocolatier. Unfortunately, Sophie found the corpse and once
again she is in the thick of a murder investigation!
There is no shortage
of suspects in the Merano family, and for a while even Sophie
seems to be in hot water. The family hires her to find Joe,
but in the process she discovers more than she bargained for.
The usual cast of characters, including ex-husband Mars, and
Sophie's lifelong rival Natasha, keep the story rolling along
at a good pace. The plot entails a nice mix of people from
previous books as well as new folks, and of course a handful
of dogs and cats play a role.
With
everything going for it that a cozy mystery should serve up,
The Diva Steals a Chocolate Kiss is a great summer read
and is appropriate for teens on up. You'll find humor, mysteries,
a touch of romance, and several good recipes as a bonus. Stock
up on sweets before you start to read, because if you are
like me the mere suggestion of the delicious Amore chocolates
will tempt your sweet tooth repeatedly.
