Grace Wilde had just finished rescuing an escaped koala. This animal behaviorist and veterinarian also has a few other skills she keeps to herself. Grace can communicate with animals. This has helped greatly with her practice. When the police show up and tell her Emma, her sister, has been arrested for murder, Grace really goes wild. Emma was found over the body of her ex-husband. Grace knows that Emma would never kill anyone – not even Tony. So Grace plans on running her own investigation. She had better be careful because not every animal can be tamed.

Things to ponder: Why does Detective Boyle dislike Grace? What did Tony Ortega want to tell Grace about Emma? Where is Heart? Why did Tony's fiancé hire Grace?

This series never disappoints. I always look forward to visiting with Grace and her family and friends. This story was well-plotted and will keep you guessing until the very end. This was a quick read for me because I had to keep turning those pages and find out whodunit. So, if you like your mystery filled with lots of animals, then you should be reading Horse of a Different Color.
