Today is not a good day for Ella Mae LeFaye. She is busy at her Charmed Pie Shop making pies to celebrate St Patrick's Day. So far she has overbeaten the whipping cream, added twice as much crème de menthe as the recipe called for and in general is not paying attention to making her fabulous pies. The extra crème de menthe caused a huge catastrophe. After eating two pieces of the pie, Mr. Jenkins drove his car over 100 garden gnomes and scraped a number of parked cars. Ella Mae needs to control her feelings for Hugh Dylan - who has left to find himself. In addition, there is a monster storm brewing near Scotland and the eye of the storm looks exactly like the four leaf clover burn scar on Ella Mae's arm. Is this signaling trouble for Ella Mae and the other magical folks?

Ella Mae is dropping off a special pie for Fiona Drever. It is filled with comfort because Fiona's daughter lives in Scotland in the path of the storm. Upon arriving Reba and Ella Mae smell gas. Entering the back way, Ella Mae finds the gas logs in the fireplace turned on and the rooms are filling with gas. Fiona is nowhere to be found. They do find a woman dead in the bathtub. Looks like Ella Mae will have her hands full saving her people and solving a murder.

Things to ponder: Will Hugh Dylan ever return to Havenwood, GA and Ella Mae? Why is Joyce Mercer in Fiona Drever's bathtub? Where is Fiona?

It is always a treat to read an Ellery Adams mystery. When she adds her magical touch to the Charmed Pie Shoppe Mysteries - you know you are reading something special. This delightfully enchanting mystery is well-plotted and cozy mystery lovers will enjoy going with Ella Mae on her journey. This very quickly became a page-turner of a read for me - I had to know what would happen next. The author has thoughtfully provided yummy recipes including her Charmed Leprechaun Pie that caused the leveling of the 100 garden gnomes. So, if you like your mystery with a magical twist, then you should be reading Lemon Pies and Little White Lies.
