Vera Van Alst has been invited to visit Summerlea. This is the summer home of the wealthy Kauffman family. Vera has been given first refusal to purchase a complete set of Ngaio Marsh first edition books. This will be a perfect addition to Vera's collection of golden age mysteries. Jordan Bingham, Vera's assistant, is thrilled to be going, too. She even has a Jackie O. vintage type of dress to wear. After lunch, the deal is made, and then Vera and Jordan head back home. The next day, they find out that Chadwick Kauffman is dead. The photo in the newspaper is not of the man they met with yesterday. Has Vera purchased stolen books? It will be up to Jordan and her Kelly family to solve this crime before Jordan ends up in jail.

Things to ponder: Who sent Jordan the flowers? What is Kev up to in the woods near the house? Was Chadwick Kauffman's death an accident or murder? Where is the real Chadwick Kauffman?

This fourth book in the Book Collector Mystery series is another gem in this well-written series. It is well-plotted and will keep you turning those pages until you find out whodunit. The authors have provided plenty of suspects and red herrings to delight cozy mystery lovers. They have also included several of Signora Panetone's fabulous recipes. I am looking forward to reading The Hammett Hex - which is coming soon. So, if you like your mystery mixed with good food and books, then you should be reading The Marsh Madness.
