Claire Weatherly has
settled down nicely in Heavenly, Pennsylvania. She lives with
her beloved Aunt Diane at her bed and breakfast, Sleep Heavenly.
Claire owns an Amish specialty shop, named Heavenly Treasures.
Things are usually tranquil in Heavenly, but in recent years
there have been crimes, specifically murders, and Claire usually
finds herself involved in solving them.
This time, there is a fire on an Amish farm, and a barn burns
to the ground. While preparing the land for a barn raising,
human bones are discovered. They are likely the bones of a
young Amish woman who disappeared years ago while on Rumspringa.
Could it be that some other young Amish people covered up
or death, or even killed Sadie Lehman? Did her death and the
cover up result in the murder of yet another Amish woman,
specifically the wife of Claire's dear friend Benjamin?
Claire's gentleman friend is a police officer, born Amish,
but shunned when he joined the force. It is Jakob's job to
solve the murder (or murders?), and Claire is determined to
once again help.
I've loved this
series from the very first book, and am delighted that it
keeps getting better and better. I so want to visit Heavenly
and shop at Heavenly Treasures. I'd stay at Sleep Heavenly,
and enjoy shopping and eating on Lighted Way. Thankfully,
Suspendered Sentence is another thoroughly enjoyable
page-turner that transported me right into town to read about
Claire's latest adventures.
Charmingly
cozy, mystery lovers won't be able to put this book down!
